Seaglass Necklace & Earrings Set - Yellow
This is a gorgeous golden yellow seaglass pendant, silver chain and seaglass earrings set by Aimee K. Banion.
This yellow hue is known as “Vaseline glass” not because it came from glass jars holding that product, but because the yellow color reminds collectors of the actual petroleum jelly color from their childhood. I found these pieces in the Caribbean Isles. Yellow seaglass of any shade or hue is 1:3,500 on the rarity scale, which means that of 3,500 pieces found by a person, only one might be yellow! Not much was made with yellow glass originally, other than some vehicle signal lights and decorative Depression Era glassware.
Seaglass (sometimes called beachglass, or Mermaids’ Tears) is worn down pieces of these relics that make their way into the ocean from a coastal landfill or from ships - sand and coral reefs wear down the shards in the surf and currents to make them particularly frosty!
This seaglass measures 1" tall x .75" wide with a sterling silver 18” chain and jump ring. An 18" sterling silver chain is included. The earrings are 1.5 inches long. All of my seaglass is organically-worn down by the oceans and Great Lakes - always a beachfind and NEVER purchased or machine tumbled! The included color rarity chart was made with research over the two decades I have been collecting these frosty shards of history.
Your jewelry will arrive in a beautiful pale aqua gift box and will be wrapped with the utmost care.
Thank you for supporting an independent American artist and beachcomber!
