Seaglass jewelry artist Aimee K Wiles Banion of MySeaglassJewelry.com and SunnySideUpArtStudio.com lays in a pile of her seaglass beachcombing finds with beachglass jewelry earrings

Aimée K. Wiles Banion feels she has viewed the world through an artist's eye since she was a young child. Drawn to beauty and diverse people, places and things, art offers a special lens for life.

Her successful two-decade career in newspaper photojournalism produced international travel assignments to China and Canada. Highlights in that field are the portraiture and photojournalism of high-profile politicians, music & movie celebrities, and access to the most ecstatic & heart-wrenching moments of her community’s lives. “I truly love the essence of documentary photojournalism – capturing the special moments of people’s lives with a candid artistry and clarity,” she says. “I have a deep passion for my job and the images I make. Photographs are powerful means of expression. They convey universal human emotions.”

Aimée’s painted artwork largely reflects bright, cheerful colors and hopeful messages. “Bringing more happiness into the world and helping people to feel good is one of my highest priorities.” She was the founder of High Tide Gallery in St. Augustine, Florida from 2006-2019, representing over 100 local and Florida artists. Aimée now focuses on growing confidence and artistry in elementary-aged children as the Lower School Art teacher at Jacksonville Classical Academy.

She has many repeat individual and corporate artwork clients throughout the United States. Internationally, she has clients in England, Austria, Canada and Norway. Personal testimonies from clients, students, parents and co-teachers can be found on the Kudos page.

“Where others see ordinary, Aimée brings out the extraordinary.”
